A huge day
It's a huge day ... I'm getting up at 3am to start cycling at 3:30, for a 220km route to the base of Mont Ventoux, then it's a 20km climb to the top of one of the top 5 Tour de France peaks. Can't wait!

This was always going to be one of the great days of the 100th Tour de France. Mont Ventoux is one of the classic Tour mountains, alongside Alpe d'Huez, Tourmalet, and Galibier. Personally I find it harder than all the others as the final third is so exposed, hot, dry and windy. It is a moonscape, unlike any other cycle pass.
